On this page you would find some interesting sheep from my breeding. In my opinion it is important to breed sheep with a good confirmation that are easy to handle and that bring two lambs yearly. In other words: functional Texels!
In 2006 there will lamb 25 white Texel ewes. Besides those there will be another 30 Blue Texels lambing.

Ram 0756-1806 ARR/ARR

Ramlamb 0756-1806, born as a twin on march 19th 2005, is een son of dam 1632 (see below; muscularity 90, GA 89) and sire 0883-1820 (muscularity 88, GA 88). This powerfull ram has a prolificacy-index of 104/32.

Ram 0756-1827 ARR/ARR

Ramlamb 0756-1827 is a sun of dam 1631 (muscularity 87, GA 86) and sire 0883-1820 (muscularity 88, GA 88). This very well muscled ram is provided with a good length and shows that this part of the Texel breed is also present on our farm. This ram is a grandson of ewe 945 (see below). The prolificacy-index of 1827 is 102/32.

Ewe 0756-1305

Ooi 0756-1305 Ewe 1305 (muscularity 86, GA 86), born in 1999, got till this day in 6 litters 16 lambs, what resulted in a prolificacy-index of 114/58. This ewe is a doughter of 945 (see below).

Ewe 0756-1791

Ewelamb 1791 origines from a eweline where in a right breeding since 1986 in 39 litters 88 lambs were produced by only eight ewes (average of 2,26 lamb/litter).
Ewelamb 1791: triplet; Mother (M) 1617: triplet (2x6 lambs); MM. 1309: triplet (4x11); MMM. 897: triplet (8x17); MMMM. 583: single (6x14); MMMMM. 415: triplet (5x11); MMMMMM. 315: twin (6x11); MMMMMMM. 228: triplet (6x11); MMMMMMMM. 161: twin (2x7).

Ram 3982-0870

Ram 3982-0870, breeded by P.J. Groot and sun, is the new sire of 2005. This type 1 (ARR/ARR) ram is judged as follows: head 86, developing 88, muscularity 87, confirmation 86, type 87, legs 85, fleece 87 en General Appearence 87. His sire, 3938-2453P (quadruplet, prolificacy-index 118/74) combines prolificacy and lifespan: his dam and both grandmothers got in 23 litters 61 lambs, an average of 2,65 lamb/litter.
With his height of 71 cm, a length of 79 cm, a breastdepth of 36 cm and a prolificacy-index of 113/62 is ram 870 a ram well fit to the current Dutch breedinggoal. The growth-index of 870 is 104/39.

Ram 0756-1818 ARR/ARR

Ram 1818 is born in 2005 as a triplet. His dam, ewe 0756-1586 (twin, muscularity 87, General Appearance 87, in 2 years 5 lambs, prolificacy-index of 111/49) is a doughter of ewe 0756-1188 (twin, in 6 years 12 lambs, prolificacy-index 110/55). Sire of 1586 is 0330-0384 (triplet, son of 3938-2600K and 0330-0311, in 5* years 11 lambs). Sire of 1818 is ram 0883-1820 (muscularity 88, GA 88). The prolificacy-index of ram 0756-1818 is 106/34. Ram 1818 mated with twelf of my ewes.

Ewe 0756-0945

Ewe 945 is born in 1995 as a twin. This doughter of a starewe (S1), judged with 86 punten for muscularity and 85 for GA, got in 8 years 16 lambs, what resulted in a prolificacy-index of 111/63. In 2004 she was in the top ten of Holland for prolification coupled with age. Her halfsister 0756-897 was forth of Holland. The picture was taken winter 2004. Ewe 945 is still on my farm and she wil give rise to lambs of ram 0883-1820.

Ewe 1632 is born in 2003 as twin from dam 0756-0945 (above). Sire of ewe 1632 is 0799-0700 (developing 87, muscularity 89, GA 87; sire's sire 0228-1440, sire's sire's sire 0261-0800P).
This ewe is judged following: head 88, developing 88, muscularity 90, confirmation 89, type 89, legs 87, fleece 80 en General Appearence 89 points. In 2 years she gave birth to 5 lambs. Her prolificacy-index is 106/44. Her height is 65.5 cm, breastdepth 35 cm and her length 77.5 cm.

Ewe 0756-1721

Ewe 1721 is born in 2004 as a twin. Her mother, ewe 0756-0897 (triplet, in 8 x 17 lambs, muscularity 87, GA 86, prolificacy-index 114/61) died this summer. She became 9 years old. Sire of this ewelamb is 0883-1820. Her prolificacy-index is 108/38. This ewe is judged following: head 86, developing 87, muscularity 89, confirmation 88, type 88, legs 82, fleece 88 en General Appearence 88 points.

Ram 0883-1820

Ram 1820 is born in 2002 as twin. This by Henk Lamberts breeded ARR/ARR ram was the vather of all my lambs in 2004 and 2005. His lambs have a very good length, excellent muscularity a luxe appearence and good legs.
The ram is judged with head 85, developing 89, muscularity 88, confirmation 89, type 88, legs 87, fleece 90 en General Appearence 88. His height is 71 cm, his length 81 cm. Sire of the ram is the by Martin Nikamp breeded excellent A-ram 1807-1305P (developing 88, muscularity 89, GA 90). Sire's sire is 3938-2600K (muscularity 90, GA 88), breeded by Commandeur.
Three halfsister of ram 1820 were judged in 2003 with 90 or even more points. A also by Lamberts breeded halfbrother was also judged 88 points.
